Hi, I have an old Acoustic Solutions HDTV with vga and hdmi inputs. When I connect it through VGA, I can get it to work at up to 1366x768. When I connect it through HDMI, I can get it to work up to 1920x1080. The problem is, under HDMI, some of the resolutions refuse to work. It's fine at 1280x720, but if I try to set it to 1360x768, the signal is lost. This is an issue for me because I'm trying to enable surround with two other monitors, and when I enable it at 3x 1280x720, my main makes it hard to read text because it's not native. I tried using different cables and ports on the gpu, didn't make a difference. Is there anything I can try? Thank you.

Most likely your tv just doesn't support the resolution that you're trying to use. Also, sometimes one hdmi port can be more pc friendly than others. Try setting the desired resolution on your other ports.

Thanks for the replies, guys!
The label on the back says ASTV 36192C-ID, so it's not that one. I tried different ports, no difference. If it goes to 1366x768, I don't know how because I can't get it to work at that. Right now it's running at 1400x900 on VGA connection. Sorry, I don't have the manual.

When you use your TV as a TV (with aerial), can you make it display the signal quality (like 720i, 480p etc)? This can help you determine the TV resolution.

When I searched for your TV model you gave, most sites list it as 19". I don't think you get 1080p on 2008' 19" TV, so probably 1440x900 is the max you will get (and you are lucky to have that).

I believe the aerial quality appeared as 480i.

Well, I don't expect and I don't need to get more. I actually want to get less, but specifically less. I need it to display 1360x768, so I can match it across my tvs and get surround working at a good resolution. I have since abandoned the idea, because the color palette of the tvs is too different to make a good match. Also, some vital software does not work in surround.

I'm not sure what you mean. I didn't choose the tv, I just have it available. And well, on my main tv I run sound through hdmi simply for the convenience.
