Tv monitor compatability question with my Gpu

So I'm new to this stuff and I was wandering I got a smart tv for Christmas. On the back it has a HDMI port it says HDMI input 2 DVI what does this mean? If I have a Gpu with hdmi and dvi can I use either like could I use the hdmi from my Gpu and connect it to the hdmi on my smart tv or have a dvi to hdmi cable and connect the dvi from my Gpu to the hdmi on my smart tv would both work?

You can use the HDMI port on your GPU to your TV. Use a HDMI cable to connect them. It's what I do when I want to hook up my gaming pc to my tv.
