TV monitor red light, but wont turn on

i have a DEVANT 32DL420 tv that i use as a monitor (2nd screen mode only so that my laptop doesn't display anything). It is just new and works fine when i use it as a monitor with VGA attachment to my laptop. When i leave it unused for some time however (i turn off the tv at times, at other times i leave it on), it "sleeps" leaving a stable red light (normal power indicator), but i can't open it anymore. Even if i wake my laptop, i can't open my tv monitor using both controller and manual pressing. I have to unplug the monitor and wait until the red light disappears then replug it before i can turn the TV on again.

Any luck contacting Devant TV's Product Support? If they can't help, you may want to consider returning their TV.
