Hi, I'm looking into buying a new TV for my son's room and I've noticed I can get either a 720p TV or a 1080p IPS monitor for roughly the same price (sometimes even cheaper on the monitor). What is the difference here? Both are the same size, yet the monitor has a higher resolution.
The screen will be used for his Wii and Netflix only, so I'm curious if the IPS monitor would work just as well as the TV for this purpose? Is there a reason a lower resolution TV costs more (or similar) than a full HD monitor?
