Tv or monitor

Solution
You'd be better off with a monitor. Sure, the screen is large on a TV, but the resolution is lower, so the image would be blocky.

Additionally, cheap TVs like that have bad viewing angles. If you tried to use it as a monitor, it's so large you'd find much of the screen was outside of the good viewing angle "cone" and you'd have either move you're had around, or sit really far back.

Monitors are designed for 20", TVs are designed for 8'.

Solution

So want size monitor 24 or 26?

It depends on taste. 24" is probably the best all around. 26-27" inch can feel more immersive for movies and games, and it's good if you wear reading glasses (or plan on sitting more than 24" from it).

If you don't know what you want go with a 24"

I use a 30" and 27" at home and two 24" at work.
