Hi all,

I've just purchased a Medion laptop, which has a Geforce 5200 Go w/ S-video out. It's a great laptop, plenty quick, and have very speakers.

Anyways, when I have my S-video connected to my TV, it only shows a black a white picture. However, if I use the composite converter & cable, I get colour pictures, with a lines slowly running up the screen. This means the video card is using composite mode even though I'm using S-Video connection.

There should be an option VIDEO OUTPUT FORMAT under the nView Manager like in this picture..

Unfortunately, under my 45.33 drivers, I don't get any option like this. It's driving me nuts...Any help would be great!

Black and white on TV is usually an indication of a PAL source on an NTSC TV, or vice versa.

I live in Canada and I've purchased my Sony TV in canada. Therefore, i'm pretty sure M-NTSC is the correct format for my TV. I will try to use PAL format on my TV, just to see what happens.

I find it very strange that the TV only displays colour images when I use the Svideo -> RCA converter. From what I've gathered from Nvidia's release notes, sometimes the TV-out detects some S-video connection as composite connection, and when this happens, the card puts out composite signal over a Svideo connection, which causes the black and white picture. Usualy there is an option in the Nvidia driver which allows me to change auto detection to either composite and S-video. I've attached an image showing that option above.

However, this option is missing from my 45.23 drivers. I was wondering if there was maybe a registry hack which will enable me to change TV out signal type?

Thanks

Sparks

I really hope the new nvidia driver(52.xx) will surface the missing option :'(

Also, for some reason, the option to change resolution for Soldier of Fortune II does not show up in the game either. This starts to really piss me off...arrggg
