TV out through VCR

Hi,

I just got a Radeon 9800pro the other day and today I have finally got round to hooking up the TV out.

I'm having no problems going from PC - TV, I get sound and picture everything looks nice. My problem is I want to go from PC - VCR so I can record onto VHS. I'm using a scart - svideo + 2 phonos converter which goes in the back of the VCR, when it's all set up like this I get picture and sound but the picture is poor, it looks like the colors are 8 bit or something.

Anyone got any ideas on how I can get it to display properly through my video player? I've also got the thing on that lets me have the same thing on monitor and TV if that makes a difference.

And just to follow on from my first post, while watching through TV even though it's nice I do get very faint scan lines going through the whole TV, if I could get rid of those it would be great
