TV shows not supported when connecting computer with HDMI

Hey guys,

I just bought a new Videocon 40 inch LED (VKC40FH) and tried connecting my computer to it using an HDMI cable. But once it boots up, after the BIOS screen and windows logo, the screen goes blank and shows 'not supported'. It works fine if I connect it to my old Samsung TV using HDMI. I am using windows 7 (tried 10 as well), HDMI connection is on the graphics card (GTX 750TI GAINWARD) and on motherboard as well which shiws same error. Any idea what is wrong??
I have tried both the HDMI ports on TV, nothing works. Any help appreciated.

what resolution does your computer running at on HDMI ?
The Videocon 40" TV only supports 1920 x 1080p @ 60 HZ
What model Samsung TV was it ?

Actually if i use it via vga, it works fine on any resolution doesn't matter 1080p or 720p.
But i wanna run via hdmi which shows mode not supported.

As my hdmi cable is 1.4 ver and tv supports 1.3
Is it the issue?

again your not answering my question, HDMI supports up to 4K resolution if your running higher resolution to your TV of 1920x1090 @ 60Hz, (ie @75Hz or higher resolution on your computer) the television will give you a "not supported"

do you have your computer video card resolution set to 1920x1080 @ 60hz before plugging it in to the television ?

Yes, it is 1920*1080 60hz and works perfect only when i connect via vga.

As my hdmi cable is 1.4 ver and tv supports 1.3, Is it the issue?

normally the v1.4 should downgrade manage 1.3IF you have the right resolution and hz.

When using HDMI, is you computer resolution on your PC Screen set to 1920x1080 @ 60hz? if not the tv will not work when you connect it.

Yes it is, like on boot screen, tv shows 1920*1080 and then suddenly not supported.
