TV to Computer through HDMI

I have a computer that I have hooked up to my TV a 32 inch Sanyo, 1360x768, I have connected it through a HDMI cable but the resolution will not be right and when it is the refresh rate is low. I have tried to force it through Catalyst Control but still won\'t work, I have hooked it through a VGA cable and it works fine, I have No idea what is the matter and it is frustrating please help! First of all, are you sure that the title is correct?

Second of all, what are you trying to watch on the TV? is the file has HD ready resolution? It is known that if you try to watch a file that is has no HD in HD quality, the resolution, and the quality of what you will end seeing will drop.
