Hello to the forum!

Once again i need help *sniff*. Long story sort, i installed a water cooler (corsair h80i) and was tweaking the fans with speedfan. After some setting, all fans stopped working. I thought "oh fuck", and immediately started reverting actions. I was checking cpu temps in case it starts getting fried so i can shut down pc on time or something.

Buuut my bad luck (or just me being stupid) got me first and pc froze. I just took the decision to shut down the pc from the power button and tried to reboot. Unfortunately pc wouldn't boot and it would make A LOT of beeps, like you could tell that something is wrong from miles away. It was that scary! After the beeps (tried to count them probably exceeding 11) pc would restart and do the same again and on and on and...!

So i cleared CMOS and still the same. Did a hardware reset and then it finally went in to bios (phew...or not)! Cpu speed was doing fine fan speed too, so were the cpu temps. I selected optimized defaults and rebooted hoping for the best.

Buuuut windows crashed before going to launch screen (windows 10) with the error message INACCESSIBLE_DRIVE. By the way i have an SSD for the main OS and a HDD for the files. Unplugged the HDD so that maybe it was trying to boot from it and then it got worse.

After showing bios screen and pressing delete to enter the bios it would just crash and reboot. And that's where i am right now desperately seeking for your help.

Sorry for the long post here's a po....oh shit not 9Gag.

Pc specs:

cpu: intel core i3 3220
mobo: gigabyte ga b75m d3h rev.1.1
cpu cooler: corsair hydro h80i
gpu: palit gtx960 jetstream 2Gb
ram: corsair vengeance 8Gb 2x4 1600Mhz
ssd: sandisk ultra II 240Gb
hdd: seagate baraccuda 500Gb
psu: 650W (not 80 plus)

Thanks for all your answers in advance!

Only recommendation at this point is to try to remove some parts to see if it boots. This may allow you to find if a single part is the cause or if the system is simply not getting enough power.

I would start by removing all usb devices you do not need because some devices cause boot issues.

Following this, I would disconnect the SSD just in case it is the problem. You did get a inaccessible device error after all.

Next would be to remove the video card since it would be the primary power drawing device in the system(and you can not boot with the cpu out of the system.). Your board looks to have onboard video so connect your monitor to that and select the right input(VGA/DVI/HDMI/DP) if it is different than the one you use with your...
Please check all your cables(power and data, remove and reconnect if you have to), remove and reinstall the memory an video card.

This is in case you knocked something loose.

Even with a failed fan the H80i will not prevent the system from posting(after some time thermal overload would kick in[if the bios is not set to warn of fan failure] and shut down the system, but that is about it).

Hello and thank you for your answer!

I tried all that. I didn't mention that i changed the cpu cooler today and the pc run smoothly for like 10 hours until i decided to tweak the fans. I really don't know what caused it and is still causing it.

I want to add that the cooler works perfectly fine right now. Fans work as they should on startup.

How are the fans connected? The H80i has its own fan controller as well. Corsair has software called Link that is used to adjust the fan curve.

Can you confirm your pump is running properly? It should show up in the bios at around 2400 rpm. If the pump has failed or is not working, your system would overhead and have to shut down to prevent damage.

Right now i can't even get to bios. As i press delete and it heads to bios menu it shows a blank screen whith just "Gigabyte Dual Bios" on the top and then restarts on it's own. The H80i was running properly though and the last time the pc was running it was at around ~2350 rpm. Fans are connected to the motherboard through a splitter (because i have only one sys_fan port) . I am not using the standard H80i fans, because i have 2 Bitfinix that are better. I am really stumbled.

If that fails, Try to remove one stick of memory and test. If that still does not work, swap it.

If that still fails, disconnect everything from the board but the power and the power switch(H80i[should get power from the system] and its fans connected). This would mean removing audio headers and other devices you may have.

At this point(if everything above has failed. Your H80i seems to be working, but I guess if you have the stock cooler you could try it, but you need to clean the old paste and use new stuff with every cooler swap), I am kind of out of ideas unless you can get another power supply to test.

Solution

Thanks for trying really!!! But i already tried all that. I used the bare minimum parts (motherboard, one ram stick, cpu and stock cooler) but i got exactly the same. I also used another power supply but got the same result as well.

So i am kinda guessing it's the cpu or the motherboard? Because these are the only 2 parts i cant test right now due to not having a 1155 motherboard or cpu.

Something i noticed is that for some reason for about half an hour it would even turn on, o case lights, nothing. But then it was all like before. I think my pc is trolling me!

Seems like it really is. I was a bit hopeless to the point i wanted to just throw it away....so i tried to reset the bios one last time, just for the sake of it. And it worked, somehow, the bios loaded the backup because of main bios failure aaaand after that it was all good. I mean what the actual fuck. I don't want to jinx it though so i'll just leave it as is.

Thank you very much for your help, i'll just pick one of your answers as a solution because you gave me ideas.

*my pc is damn nuts*
