Hi,
I need some help regarding some performance issues regarding my computer. I need to know if I need some tweaks or I need to OC it.
First I want to say that I have a computer running on a AMD Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition 3.00 GHz skt AM2+, using an Asus M3N-HT Deluxe/Mempipe(am2+) as its motherboard, 2x 2GB DDR2 800 MHz Corsair CL4 Kit Dual Channel, and for the graphical solution I went for a Gainward GeForce GTX 285 Golden Sample 1GB DDR3 512-bit using a Windows Vista x64. All the settings are factory supplied, I didn’t OC anything I’ve just updated the motherboards bios in order to properly “read” the cpu’s settings.
The problem and the reason I’m writing this thread is that my friends and I were playing a game (pretty new) that is permanently showing the ping, some other stats and the “simspeed” which is the combined grade for both graphics and cpu’s processing power.
I would have expected to have a great value for that game simspeed regarding my computer’s configuration and the game’s requirements. But NO! My friends have at least the same grade, or higher, running on lower system configurations (by my opinion) like a first gen C2D@aprox 2Ghz with 2Gb ram.
So, finally, my question is should I OC my cpu or my Phenom II X4 940 it’s just lame and I should just sell the platform (excepting the video card) and buy a C2D 8500?
Thanks and looking forward for your answers.

Your system should be great. Test it with 3DMark06 and post up the scores here, it would help me figure out what's up with your system...try overclocking it to at least 3.4Ghz...post up any thoughts and questions up...and good luck! :)
