Twin Gtx 660's in SLI vs GTX 970?

The biggest difference you'll see going to a gtx 970 is being able to run games at higher resolutions. If you have 660 sli and run 1080p, i would hold off until you can afford/buy a 1440p monitor or higher. Then go with "big maxwell" or possibly the r9 380/390 series next year.

I have two 660's in SLI at the moment

I"ve noticed that :/ I feel like I really didnt get much of a performance boost from having just the single 660

You will really feel a big performance boost with the GTX 970 as it performs better than the GTX 780 but goes head to head with the GTX 780ti. But only for like $350! It's a great deal!

The people posting here obviously don't own 660 sli. My 660s beat my friends 980 in valley benchmark. And in game performance is comparable. So swapping for 970 will provide no performance upgrade. Only better efficiency

Wow really? I've been thinking about it and looking around the web and have seen similar claims. It's looking like the only benefit to getting a 970 is the lack of SLI support for most games right now

I've seen similar myself and as their numbers correspond with what I see from my 660's I can only conclude that some posters on this thread don't have a clue what they're talking about.
