Question Two 1rx8 Modules

(Out of Curiosity) Can 2 1RX8 DDR3L Ram Modules compatible to each other? If so what the advantage and Disadvantage if I used this kind of setup?

Con's:
-May not boot.
-May not be stable. (may want to test with Memtest86)
-Speed is determined by slowest stick.

Pro's:
-Easier then selling your current stick and buying a 2x8gb kit.
-It may work perfectly fine.

That's the better option as both sticks in the kit have been tested to work together.
