i have recently bought a 3080 and was wondering if it was worth it two use two 8 pin power connectors over one 16 pin.

There's no such thing as a 16-pin PCIE power connector. The only thing close that exists are custom cable extensions, which frequently allow you to extend two 8-pin PCIE power connectors into one combined 16-pin block.

Do you mean two 6+2 pins on one cable daisy chained? 6+2 connectors are all very individual from each other and it's unlikely one will look like a 16-pin connector split into two.

Let's work backwards: what PSU do you have?
