Read the article. The article says it's not possible, because it gets too unspeakably hot that they can't use it at all. So sorry, OP, but you can't.

I was thinking of running a second 7990 instead of a water block so the cards don't run as hard and cooler but I guess that won't work.

It is possible though. I didn't say it was a good idea. I should have added that to my comment though.

You could use water blocks on them and it would work from my research.
