Hello, There are two choices for my first gaming computer. One is a lenovo 5i (looks to be small form compact design) my concern is that future upgrading will be non-existent due to proprietary parts and possibly also air flow ventilation is poor. The second option is Skytech Gaming pc (this is a full size gaming tower) Here are specs
Lenovo $1129 CAD vs Skytech Gaming Computer $1200CAD

Lenovo IdeaCentre Gaming 5i Desktop PC (Intel Core i7-12700/1TB HDD/512GB SSD/16GB RAM/RTX 3060) -Eng - Only at Best Buy

Skytech Shiva II Gaming PC Desktop – Intel Core i5 12400F 2.5 GHz, NVIDIA RTX 3060, 500GB NVME SSD, 16GB DDR4 RAM 3200, 650W Gold PSU, 11AC Wi-Fi, Windows 11 Home 64-bitCAD

Thank you

I have no idea who Skytech is. The specifications do not mention a motherboard or PSU by brand name or model.

Do you have ANY reason to think that the Skytech wouldn't have proprietary issues, just as the Lenovo might?

Skytech's small, but they do appear to use aftermarket parts. Gamers Nexus did two reviews of Skytech systems and both were aftermarket; one got a solid review the other...most certainly did not.

I'd be more curious from the OP as to why specifically these *exact* two prebuilts are the *only* options.

Its not necessarily these computers but these are what caught my interest as the price point with the hardware seemed good. The Motherboard is a Asrock B660M-C
