I have switched my attention away from the IIyama monitors i mentioned in another post on this forum and have started looking at other brands.I just have a couple of queries if anyone can help me out?

1) I have recently seen two LaCie monitors which specs looked very good.I have heard the name in passing but i dont know a lot about them. Can anyone give me an opinion on them as a brand and whether they are as good as the IIyama's or NEC's.No google searches yield any comparisons.

2)Can anyone tell me the difference between the NF and DF tubes/screens.I have seen these a lot and from what i gather the NF is the higher quality one but i dont know why or the exact differences.

Many thanks in advance for any replies.

1) I have heard of LaCie and looked into getting one of their monitors a while ago but their price at the time detured me. I would go with a NEC-Mitsubishi DiamondTron myself if anything because it is a much more well known brand making it less likely that you would get screwed. I owned a 21" Sony G500 Trinitron for the longest time and was very dissapointed when Sony stopped making CRT Monitors. I ended up buying a 22" NEC-Mitsubishi DiamondTron and it nearly exaclty the same as a Trinitron. It is very sharp and has very rich colors.

2)I haven't even noticed the NF and DF until you mentioned it and I was unable to find much about it from my searches. I have a feeling that the NF means Near Flat and the DF is some acronym for regular CRT tubes. Near Flat tubes are definatly the best mainly due to their use of an aperture grille. This produces a much clearer and color rich image. Not all near flat tubes use this but most do. I know for a fact that DiamondTrons do.

Thanks a lot for your input Folken.
I have more or less decided to go for a 19" Pro NEC/Mitsubishi monitor as they seem to be readily available here. The Lacie looked a similair spec and i thought it was worth considering before i ordered.
Thanks again for your time....
