Hi, right now I'm having GTX 970 running. I would like to buy a GTX 1070 ti, can i run them both? The 970 for gaming and daily usage and set 1070 for mining altcoin..

I wonder if that possible? Do I need to set up separated monitor on each cards? What's recommended psu power for both cards?

Yes - it's possible (if motherboard of your pc has enough pcie slots).
There's no need for additional monitors.
System with GTX 970 and GTX 1070 would require 650W PSU minimum (it's better to have some reserve, so 700W, 750W).

how about the motherboard? if I plug on of the card on PCIE 4X slot, example gtx970, would it impact its performance?

Put gaming card into pcie x16 slot.

For mining card even pcie x1 is enough. Use raiser card, if there are no more x16 slots available.
