Kingston 4Gb 1600mhz 1.5V, 11-11-11-28 and Kingston 8Gb 1600mhz 1.5V, 11-11-11-28 did not work together (both single),
Kingston 8Gb 1600mhz 1.5V, 11-11-11-28 and one plate of pair Kingston 2x2Gb 1333mhz 1.5V, 9-9-9-24 actually work together, why?

Solution
It's hit or miss, no way of telling if mixed DRAM will play nice, even two single sticks of the same exact model from different packages might or might not play. If they don't you can try adjustments to the timings and/or voltages i.e. the *gb and 4GB above, might try with them at 1600 11-11-11-28 and set DRAM voltage to 1.6 - and they might play
