Hello all,

I am directly getting to the topic :)

- My gaming rig has 8 GB (4*2) DDR3 1866mhz Hyper X Fury CL10- Pin UDIMM Dual Kit
- I bought it approx. 3 years ago and I'd like to buy exactly the same kit (4*2) to upgrade it to 16GB
- I do not want them work as Quad Channel yet what I'm trying to figure out is to see whether they'd work properly as two dual channel kits. Be aware that I'll buy exactly the same kit.

My motherboard is Gigabyte GA-Z97P-D3 and following are written in the memory specs of the board:

* Dual channel memory architecture
* Support for non-ECC memory modules
* Support for Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) memory modules

Thank you in advance!

I see... I believe it is still a good idea to upgrade it for gaming. What do you say? In case it happens as you mention above, would it be a major downside or just not allow me to get the full performance?

Thanks again!
