Yes, but unless you configure both applications to leave read emails on the server, the first one that you use will download and delete them from the server. This is no different than reading your emails with your phone and/or PC.

Thank you GhislainG, for your unadorned answer that's right on the money. My problem is that Live Mail is downloading all my server mail each time. I do want to keep my mail on the server after download to PC so another client is the answer but I want to trial it first as I'm not technical and want to be able to get back to Live Mail if necessary. I and encouraged by your answer to go ahead and try out alternatives now. Very relieved, thank you so much.
