Hello guys

I wanna connect two external monitors to my laptop which is this one: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo-Ideapad-Y700-15ISK-80NW-Notebook-Review.155878.0.html

The first problem is that it only has 1 hdmi output and none DVI or VGA.. Should I use something like a usb graphic card adapter?

The second problem is that one of the monitors are 60Hz and the other one is 144Hz. I no it's not possible to get 144Hz, since I don't have DVI or displayport on my laptop. But I wanna make sure that I can run the 120Hz that HDMI supports. But is it even possible to go with one monitor on 60Hz and another one on 120? Or should I just forget about having two monitors and only use the 144Hz with a HDMI cable and get the 120Hz.

Sorry for my bad english.

Your laptop does not have a USB3.1c thunderbolt port and therefore cannot support additional monitors beyond HDMI 1.4 spec, or beyond the single HDMI port available.

You would need to use a USB based graphics card to gain monitors, which is also not likely to support 144hz.

But what about 120Hz?

Because if that's not even possible, I would rather just use the 144hz monitor with HDMI and atleast get the 120hz.

And thanks for your reply

Depends. HDMI 1.3 can in theory push 1080p @ 120hz, if the computer is up to it.
If it has HDMI 1.0 then no, it can't.

For something like this you're going to have to just try it and see, strong chance it wont work though.

What do you want a 120hz monitor for anyway?

I'm saving up for a gaming computer and they had an great offer on the 144hz screen, so that's why I bought it :)

And I need the 120hz for playing counter strike :)
