Two GeForce GTX 970 VS one 980?

What would be more effective? 2 970's or 1 980?

If games can use the SLI, 970 DESTROYS 1 980 But i like having single GPU's for reliability, and 1 980 offers great peformance.. More than enough for 1080p and 1440p

I don't know.. If it does, then 2 970 will be alot faster than a single 980

They can go all the way to 4-way SLI.. But i would NOT do that. 1st card performs at 100%, 2nd in SLI: 80%, 3rd in SLI: 50%.. which means that it is not worth the money to go 3-way SLI 970 because 2-way SLI 980 is more efficient and faster

No its kind of like +80% over single card performance.

If you have 2 in SLI, one of the GPU's perform 100%, the other performs 80%.. Total: 180% performance increase from a single GPU.. More GPU's in SLI = less performance for the money.
