Is it possible to use to use two gtx 1050 ti graphics cards on my pc or is it just better to get another newer graphics card

no. the 1050 Ti doesn't support SLI

You would have to move up to the GeForce GTX 1070 to get SLI supported graphics cards.

Not only that, but SLI and Crossfire support in general as a multiple GPU solution are slowly dying. Since DX12, fewer and fewer game developers are optimizing games for good multi-GPU scaling. It's a shame, but it is what it is and drove me to sell my GTX 970s last year and drop the coin for a 1080 Ti. Some blame consoles as the root cause as developers are developing games for consoles first then porting over to the PC. It used to be the other way around and I don't say this lightly being an SLI Voodoo 2 owner in 1999.

TL/DR: buying a second GPU is a waste of money over buying a more powerful single GPU. This chart shows it pretty well:
