Two Hard Drives - Optimal Use - first build

So I finally decided to do my own build, so far so good! Now I have a question about my hard drives.

What would be the best set up for storage/speed combination? Or does it not matter much?

I have a 74GB Raptor and a 500GB hard drives.

Should I install my OS, programs and games on the Raptor and use my 500GB hard drive for storage of music, video etc.? Or the other way around?

Should I put the OS on separate hard drive from applications like Photoshop and Illustrator?

You've got the right idea. OS and apps on the Raptor, 500GB for storage. GL
