Hello,
I was told there was a patch or program available for 2000 Advanced Server that would allow two IP addresses to be assigned to the same ethernet interface. I have a network with a firewall and on the inside of the firewall I want to place my FTP server. I am only using one externally assigned address for the firewall and want the same interface to listen for ftp traffic. The way I understand it, this patch will allow the adapter to listen for the firewall and also listen for the internal address of the ftp server to allow access accordingly.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions. If anyone knows a better way to have an ftp server on an internal address, please let me know.

I was wondering the same thing. Cause currently I'm using 2 NIC for internal and external site access, if there is a way to configure multiple IP's per card that would be very usful to me.

To add multiple IPs to one nic on 2000 server advanced do as follows:
-right click My network places and go to properties.
-right click your local area connection and choose properties.
-choose properties on tcp/ip and click advanced.
-click the add button under the tcp/ip area and add you ip address.

Hope this helps you out.
