Two monitors different resolutions

I have a 15 inch laptop monitor and a 26 inch monitor connected. How do I get each to have different resolutions?

What resolution u need?

Go to desktop >>>right click>>> Resolution.

Stop mirroring, if u do.

I have a Gateway with a 15" monitor where the resolution is fine. The larger monitor (ViewSonic) mirrors the Gateway screen. I want to just change theresolution on the ViewSonic only to 1620

Select just that monitor (or change the 'display' setting), in the properties, and change the resolution that corresponds with it.

I think he is having problems with the background image, in the hd one it doesn't fill the whole screen because the resolution doesn't fit, but in theory the full hd of the other screen is there, just move a window and full screen it on that side, it should work. I just tried this out myself so I will show you my setup
