I have HP computer with 8 GB memory IE8 and all updates. I have 2 hard drives, 1 with Vista 64 bit and 1 that I would like to install Windows 7 on in order to try it out to see if I want to change.

My problem is I am not sure how to do this. I thought maybe I could unplug the HD with Vista on it and do a complete install on the spare drive and then do I replug up the original one with Vista on it or do I just leave both hooked up and will 7 ask me which drive I want to install it on. I don't want to loose anything on my HD that has Vista and all my programs on it.

Advise me exactly how is the best to do this. Windows 7 Ultimate is what I want to install not as a update but a complete fresh install on the spare drive.

Thanks

Tom

It's the same method. Instead of using a new partition for your second OS, just use the second HDD.
