Two quick questions about psu and cpu >.>

Hey all been browsing these forums for a bit and decided to make an account. i wouldnt classify myself as a complete noob to computers but i definitely don't know it all. I have a quick question my pc specs are as follow

mobo - Asus m4a77t/usb3
cpu - amd phenom 965 Be @ 3.9 1.44v (not sure if thats to high)
case - nzxt gamma
hd Hitachi 1tb 7200 rpm drive and ocz 60gb ssd
memory - 6 gig cosair 1333mhz
gpu - asus eah6850
power supply Xion 700 watt power supply

okay two quick questions one being is my cpu voltage set to high (i know this should be asked in a different forum but decided to put everything into one post) and second my power supply i (think) it sucks really bad i'm trying to push my cpu to 4.0 temps are fine but my comp is just shutting off no bsod no nothing so i think its the power supply because the 12V1 is only at 21a 12v2 is 22a 5V is at 32a and 3.3V is at 24a can you tell me if that is sufficient for my needs and if something else is the problem? also i plan on getting a new mobo and going crossfire in the future if you think think psu is crap can you give me suggestions? they will be greatly appreciated thanks

Idk try getting into the BIOS and undervolting a bit, if it locks up well you know what the issue is lol.

You are correct...that PSU is craptastic. It is theoretically sufficient for your rig, but it is a low quality PSU that won't like getting pushed too hard. A quality PSU makes OCing soooo much smoother. My signature has a link to recommended PSUs and a PSU guide. A short list of good quality PSU mfrs: Seasonic, Antec, and Corsair...there are a lot of other good choices, but this is my short list. well atm i'm stable but i try pushing to 4ghz at i believe 1.75 voltage i'm not entirely sure and i get no bsod no nothing just turns off on me during a occt stress test. when i originally overclocked it i would get bsod if it wasn't working properly if i up the voltage from where its at currently my computer just shuts off at around the 8-12 minutes mark of either occt or prime95 so that's what leads me to believe its the power supply but i don't know much about power supplies

okay so just as a heads up because i know nothing about power supplies even tho my current psu is 700 watt your saying the 620 or even the 520 watt will suffice?

1.75 are you serious !?!? Turn that voltage down man 1.5 MAX !

Try swapping with a decent quality known working PSU to rule that out.
Are you OC'ing via the FSB, Multi or both ?

Yep. The 6850 is really not a very power hungry card - about 120W. The 965 has a 125W TDP, but when whip it hard trying to make 4.0 and you're probably closer to 200W. Add another 75W for the rest of the system and you're still just around 400W. The 520 can handle your load, but if you want some extra room, then go for the 620W.

Not all CPU's are created equal. Maybe yours is at a point where things such as CPU-NB speed/voltage adjustments are necessary.

Is C6,C1E, CnQ, Turbo Core and all that other junk turned off ?

Also get into the multiplier settings for the HT-Link and set it back to a multi that equals closest to 2000 (over 100-200Mhz is fine, under more than 100Mhz will hurt performance and stability)

yeah i have that all turned off and i only oc'ed my nb very little cause of my crappy power supply once a get a new one im going to start to mess around and see my max oc with the nb /ht link

Leave the NB frequency itself alone. What you want to adjust is the speed of the "CPU-NB Link" I'd try setting it around 2400-2600 with 1.25v
