I'm considering getting a second monitor for my PC; one for gaming, and the second to leave up FAQs, boss tips, youtube videos, etc. Is there any extra hardware I would need (aside from the extra monitor, obviously)? Do games or other programs tend to have problems running with a second monitor showing something else (I know that many support being run across multiple monitors, but that's not what I'm after)?

I've never looked into multiple monitors before, and thanks in advance for any advice.

By default games will run on your primary screen. This is the screen that displays the taskbar and such. As long as you set the resolution right in the game, you will have no problems with displaying other things on the second screen.
