Two VGA Monitors, Dual Setup

Hello,

I am trying to understand why my second monitor is not detected. Both are Samsung S22D300 monitors with only VGA input on the back. My computer has a VGA and a DVI output. I am trying to use a VGA to DVI adapter to run the second monitor, but the computer cannot detect it.

I should add the DVI slot is DVI-I Dual Link.

Help?

try that adapter on the 1st monitor to see if it displays or not.

It does not display.

then the adapter is most likely the problem as maybe the wrong dvi version. is the video ports on a videocard or part of the motherboard?
