Type of CPU for video editing, considering i have a decent GPU

A friend gave me his old GPU, a Radeon HD 6580 Saphire, and I'm wondering if having this GPU negates the need for integrated graphics in the CPU. Should I get a card without graphics, I was thinking an AMD fx series, and would it be wasting money to get an APU processor with integrated graphics? I don't care about gaming, I need performance with video editing, adobe AE and Premiere, as little money spent as necessary.
How much does the GPU do for video editing?

For video editing -

1. the more cpu cores the better. eg amd fx8350 or any i7. Intel have faster cores but a higher price.

2. Next requirement for editing is lots of fast ram eg 16gb 2133

3. The last is lots of stream processors or cuda cores in your graphics card.

I have an editor. I've got an i7 3930k - 6 cores plus 6 threads, 16gb 2133 ram and 2 x gtx 670s.
