typing freeze

please someone help.....for the last few days i been getting a very annoying
problem. Sometimes whenever i start typing, after a few words or so the
typing will freeze. i cannot type anymore letters/characters for approx 10-15
secs then when i start typing letters again it will resume back to normal.
when it freezes nothing i type appears on the screen, if i dont touch the
keyboard afta a few seconds and resume, the typing goes back to normal. I am
currently using windows xp, have norton internet security and also ran a
virus scan...but nothing. desperatly need some expert advice

First do the easy thing troubleshooting and try with a different
keyboard.
