Absolutely true. All these sanctions are doing is reducing revenue for domestic companies and massively accelerating China's drive towards technical independence. Shortsighted stupidity.

China has to make sure the emerging talents don't go to West. Brain drain is the biggest threat to national security. Lets not forget how & from whom US got atom bomb. Also how companies like cadence, synopsis ended up in america. Don't forget lam research.
