Privacy, as dictated by government, isn't really private. Security follows the same logic, in this case.

I see this capability as a net (no pun intended) gain for end-users. I'll have some, please.

Google and the gub'ment. Two entities fighting to see which can gain complete control while both lie their collective asses off about what they are doing, when they will do it and the why they are really doing it. I trust neither. Both have shown they aren't worthy of it.

I never really understood why data protocols aren't considered freedom of speech. IMO, there are far bigger stretches of the 1st Amendment, like campaign donations.
