I have an older computer which uses DDR3 ram.
Someone gave me some PC3-10600U memory and I'm not sure what the U means as far as it being registered/ECC.

I know R is registered and U means low voltage but I can't figure out if it can put it in my desktop (long story, it's a pain to try it out).

Can U type memory work in your standard desktop? I know my mobo won't accept registered/ecc ram.

U is unbuffered, i.e. not ECC.
