I have a Dell U2412M( 2 years old) monitor and looking to get a dual setup.

I have seen some reviews that Dell has changed some color and when user setup same monitor with a years gap they see some color difference in monitors! Is that true?

Should I get the same monitor or get a ultrawide monitor?
Which is better option in terms of productivity?

Budget $500 - $700.

Solution
I also do not like 3 monitors setup with bezel between the monitors.
Do not play on 2 monitors, this is not a good idea...the center would be directly on the bezel ^o^
Just play on either 1 or 3.

For working with documents, 16:10 is more convertable but for movies and games 16:9 and 21:9 are more interesting.

Having on 27" 16:9/16:10 on one side and 24" 16:10 on the other side, well....this is quite a lot of outside ballance.
Your current U2412M combined with 29" 21:9 or another U2412M is the better choice.
dual monitors and ultrawide monitors for work provide difference pros.
For video/video/music editing, I found ultrawide (U3415W) to be more comfortable.
For like, programing in one monitor while reading requirements on the second monitors is better of course using 2 monitors.
It depends on your preferences and what you are doing.

As for me:
I moved from 2xU2412M to XB270HU+PB278QR. I am working with Matlab and DOORs. (I have only 1 rig for gaming and working at home)
One of my colleagues moved from 2xU2412M to a single U3415W. He is the one who do content creation (video, audio, etc.)
In the office, all of us are using 2x U2715H.

Now about, if you want to get 2 monitors from the same type and brand.

Are the monitors still 100% the same after some years?
No! There could be revisions and slightly different panels along the years due to many reasons.
Does it change in image quality? Usually, not in a way you can notice using your bare eyes.

Should you get the same monitor again?
yes and no.
Yes, because the older monitors tend to be cheaper.
No, because newer monitors have better to offer.

Thanks for your reply Gunyu.
I have more coding work. And very less video editing.
How about I keep my U2412M and get one ultrawide monitor 29". If I want to play game or video editing or movie I will use the Ultrawide monitor.

Will that work nice? Or I will face problem as both monitor will have different resolution and size. Like how I will going to see both monitors and keep this on desk.?

hey thanks for suggestion. I am thinking of getting a 29" monitor. Can you recommend which one to look for? Which resolution should I be looking?

I have a good budget. But I am confused should I do 1x 29" + 1 x Dell U2412M
Or should I get one 34" curved and sell my Dell U2412M

Which option looks best?

Are you talking about 34" 3440x1440 e.g. U3415W?
Depending on what you are doing and how you work, 2 monitors and 1 bigger monitors with a lot more resolution have a quite different benefits.
Working on something on one monitor while opening a document on the other are more convinient if you work heavily based on documentations.
Conten creation like video/photo/music editing will gain more benefit from having a bigger monitor with more resolution. (Curve is only gimmick for work)

Yes U3415W or 34uc97 .

Okay let me explain, I am sure you will understand my work and suggest which is good for me as I am totally confused what to get. I do not want that I invest $1300 or something and at end I regret my decision. In India I will get 34" monitor for around $1300 minimum.

I am a wed developer and designer. Currently I am using Dell U 2412M and Sync Master 2033 for my working purpose.
Right now I just open my documentation/design/skype on Samsung monitor and work on Dell. It looks all good.
And I do watch movies and play games.
So If I take a week schedule I work more on coding. And I watch approx 2-3 movies a week / play games.
If I do not have work I play games for all day. For ex. I spend most of my Sundays plying games.

Please suggest and really thank you for reading my messages and your valuable suggestion.

Hmm yes I have planned to upgrade to better gpu but next year end.
So should I get same Dell u 2412 m or 1 widescreen 29" or maybe 27" monitor. As I can work on different aspect ratios.
I do not like playing with visible bezel.

Yes bezel suc*s. You see your main charter is cut off 😛

Okay so I am going to keep my U2412M and will get a 29" 29UB67 2560 x 1080 21:9.
Now which one is another question, please see I have these 4 option available online and I have not contacted local dealer as I have no idea which one to get: http://i.prntscr.com/aef13245fefa42bfbf1e14b5aa508a43.png

All these have a variable price difference between 1st and other 3.
Can you please suggest which is more better for me? Or what should I be looking at to final a monitor?

Now, I can open it.
From all of those brands, I trust Dell the most. U2913M is my first choice.
On some places, Dell could be a lot more expensive and if this is the case, ASUS is always my second choice after Dell.
Between PB298Q and MX299Q, PB 298Q is my second pick, because of its pivot stand.

Thanks, I will check what option I have locally. But can you please tell what should I look? Which Panel and other option if possible? Or should I try to get U2913WM?

Thanks for the reply.
Last question please :)
Any other 29" monitor suggestion you have?

nope, basically the ones I like are already among those 4.
BTW, Asus PB298Q should have the lower total latency than Dell U2913M.
If you game quite often, you might wanna consider this.

On the other hand, U2913M is still better in term of build quality and OSD.

I can not find detailed reviews on English for both..but..perhaps you can try google translation...
