Starting to get serious about building a desktop. NOT a gamer, but a video editor that works with projects < 1hr. Looking to do it as inexpensively as possible.

Pretty much planning to go with the AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition and a Asus M4A88T-V EVO Motherboard...

1) I need a video card at least 1GB. Was looking at a nVidia GeForce GT520, but cannot figure out if I can use a PCI Express 2.0 card on a PCI Express mobo (I said I was a newbie!!) I would certainly be willing to go with some other graphic card, I just was led to believe nVidia was the way to go. I can get it for around $55 shipped

2) I was thinking 500W power supply. I am thinking I MAY want to overclock the sucker, but may not either...I just wanna be prepared if indeed I decide to go for it. Is 500 W enough for the inevitable fans or cooling systems on this system, or should I go even higher?

Thanks, sorry for the possibly idiotic questions!

thanks! Would you happen to know If my motherboard has PCI:

PCI Slots: 3

PCI Express X1 Slots: 1

PCI Express X16 Slots: 2

can I use video card with PCI express 2.0 or 2.1? Are they compatible on that motherboard? It isn't obvious to me.

yes
