I have a USB with an image of Ubuntu 16.04 32-bit that I'm trying to use to get Linux on an old 2in1 I don't use. It's an RCA Cambio running Windows 10 with UEFI BIOS. I disabled secure boot, but when I restart into recovery mode and choose to boot off of a USB, the USB I have connected doesn't show as an option.

I used Win32 disk imager to get the file onto the stick, but it doesn't show up.

Can anyone explain why this isn't working?

Thanks.

Hi

I did not try linux on my tablet

But not all usb prep programs can make the usb compatible with 32 bit uefi

Double check the linux distribution you chose works on 32 bit uefi systems

Hi

Have you tried a 64 bit version of linux

Or disabled only boot UEFI in uefi settings

How big is the hard drive?
If over 2 TB you need 64 bit operating system on boot drive

Finally what file system on usb ?
Needs to be fat or fat 32 for uefi to recognise the disk as bootable

-Not yet because the Windows build on there is 32

-I believe I have

-Only 32GB on board storage

-It's in FAT32

Hi

Is that a tablet with touch screen and detachable keyboard?
I have one with 32bit uefi bios and windows 10 32bit
If touch screen are all the drivers available for linux available

Make sure you have a recovery usb of the windows 10 otherwise any recovery partition is likely to be over written by the linux installation

There are a number of usb prep tools which specialise in linux distributions
