I have just bought a Lenovo IdeaPad L340 with Windows 10. I want to install Ubuntu 18.04 as a dual boot and no, the question is not about how to achieve that :)

It’s about the partition size. So far there are 2:
  • Windows (C:\), 199 GB, 136 free
  • Data (D:\), 276 GB, 276 free

Which one to shrink and with how much, so that both OS’s might run comfortably?

I’s also like to leve DATA for installation files, like games and such.

Thanks!

A single 512GB drive?
With Windows + Linux + games...that's going to be rather slim.

For the Windows partition, I wouldn't go any lower that 150GB.

Actually I mostly play smaller retro games, and I never have more than one modern one installed. Also, on my old CPU said config (with Win7 though) worked fine for years with even smaller disc capacity.
