Ubuntu Booting and not showing boot menu to select Win 8.1 or Ubuntu

Hi i bought Acer Aspire V5 Laptop with Windows 8 Pre installed. Upgraded to Windows 8.1. I have two partitions C and E. I have used disk management to shrink E to form an unallocated space.Then i went to UEFI and disabled secure boot. After that i have inserted Bootable Ubuntu 12.04 LTS DVD and installed Ubuntu in the space un allocated. But when i start the Laptop, boot menu is not shown and directly ubuntu is loaded. Also when i press shutdown button in ubuntu, after few seconds Laptop is getting Restarted...please help to solve these issues.

ubuntu 12.04 isn't uefi friendly. 13.10 is. You could also try installing boot-repair, I believe that might get it working as well. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Boot-Repair

Hi Thanks..i have done Boot Repair, but it gave Error that Repair has failed an it gave me URL http://paste.ubuntu.com/6732706/. please help me, also i tried to install ubuntu 13.10 using bootable DVD. but its not booting even though BIOS priority is DVD drive.

Translated means you may need a boot partition near the beginning of the hard drive. Looking at your table, you have two windows recovery partitions, the one at the beginning is most likely your old windows, if there's room shrink it the 200mb, if not check at the website of acer and see if their community can confirm the deletion of that partition ok. Or you could shrink the sda4 partition the 200mb if necessary and try it there.
