Question Ubuntu failed to open error

I was installing Ubuntu 18.... and when I was at the part to create a partition on the laptop the system froze so I just force shutdown the PC and when I went to boot to the installer thumb drive it gave me an error saying failed to open \efi\boot\mmx64.elf - not found ... and it said some additional stuff that only happens on the uefi installer the non uefi will boot but has problems as well. I used to have Ubuntu windows 10 dual boot and it worked no problem so I'm not sure what's going on it it a problem with the bios since I took a totally different USB drive and make a new installer and still has the same problem

Ok, so inbetween the first crash and the next boot attempt, you didn't change any bios settings ?

Have you had any issues to the computer prior to this?

No bios changes except after the problem I tried setting it back to defalt settings...I can boot to windows and or windows installer with no problems. The only problem is whe. I try to boot to ubuntu

Maybee you need to disable secure boot in bios.
