I'm trying to replace the 80 GB SATA HDD out of this (old, I know, I know) Inspiron lappy with a 60GB SSD. I load Ubuntu with this pendrive installer and it completes the creation of the bootable pendrive. Set the BIOS to boot from USB before HDD. Insert pendrive into USB. Boot up. I get the Ubuntu Installer boot menu, with several options: Try Ubuntu without installing Install Ubuntu

etc.

The system says "will boot automatically in 5" and then it counts down to 1 and then freezes and nothing else happens. Or if I power cycle and arrow down to Install Ubuntu and press Enter, it freezes and nothing else happens.

If I press a key afterwards, the computer just beeps at me but nothing else happens.

I have tried two different pendrives, one 2GB and one 4GB.

Any assistance is much appreciated. Thank you!
