Ubuntu is taking a while to launch each time in virtual box

I recently installed the newest version of virtual box and kali linux on my desktop but each time i try to launch it i get a message saying "A start job is running for LSB: thin initscript (Xs/5min 3s)". On my laptop it works just fine and I don't have the five minute wait. The gave the VM 4 cores 6147MB memory and I have the Controller: IDE set to IDE Secondary Master: [optical Drive] kali-linux-2018.4-amd64.iso. My Host is win 10 64 bit and I already had an issue saying that the kernel didn't support 64 bit or something like that but was able to fix it by deleting and creating a new Kali VM of the type other and version other/unknown 64 bit. Why am I getting this 5 minute wait period when trying to launch Ubuntu?

Kali Linux is not Ubuntu is Debian-testing possible buster release. How much Ram does your system have physically? Kali only needs 4Gb VM ram Your cores you only should give 2 cores if you have 4. And use Linux64 as the type I do not think VB has a Debian type to pick you can not max out your system resources for the VM.

Your thread title says "Ubuntu", but your post says "Kali". Which is it? And, if Kali, why? Kali is not a general purpose distribution. It is a tool for security specialists, not wanna be hackers and "script kiddies". Someone in the Kali target market already knows how to solve your little issue.

So which Linux is this? Ubuntu or Kali?
Are you loading this from a VHD, or off a CD/DVD?
