Hi,
I recently upgraded my Ubuntu dual boot from 12.04 to 14.04. Everything was going great but I noticed one strange thing: my login screen was quite empty. All it was, was my name and picture with a background of ubuntu. I dismissed it and moved on but I then realised it is blocking me from being able to launch a different desktop environment because there are no other options on the login screen; except to log in. The reason I'm so keen to fix this is because I've been looking into gaming on Linux and I installed Portal 2. I wasn't overly impressed by the performance but I read that booting straight into a steam interface (like what steam OS does) makes games perform 50% better! I thought it was worth a go but as I said I can't change my desktop interface because there's no option to on my login screen.
After searching long and hard on the internet with no luck, I've come here to ask for help. Here is a screenshot of the scenario. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=716199961799114&set=a.190622387690210.50276.100002273498346&type=1&theater

Thanks ~Brendan
