Hey there tech people,

I'm in need of some help. I recently installed Ubuntu 14.04 on a Toshiba Satellite L775. At the moment this is the only computer i have. And recently i've been getting this problem where ill boot up the laptop and get no display after the initial Toshiba loading screen. So i normally turn the computer off manually, and reboot. Upon my 2nd boot i make it to the purple Ubuntu screen and it asks me for my "passphrase". When i get to this screen though i am unable to enter anything into the "passphrase" box. So i reboot manually again. And i am finally able to log in. Any thoughts?

honestly Ubuntu has been going downhill recently. I would recommend Linux Mint which has the same foundation as Ubuntu but it will give you least problems. Almost if not all of the commands in Ubuntu are pretty much the same for Linux mint.
