Ubuntu on S3 Unichrome Pro.

Hello,
I am trying to run ubuntu 14.04 x32 in my old desktop which has S3 unichrome pro IGP & the problem is ububtu is unable to detect the IGP, it detects it as like gallium 0.4 on llvmpipe & the computer works very much slow.

I just want this computer to work normally so that my parents can use it for browsing or word processing. I am little bit new to linux OS and cannot figure out how to make this work!

- 160GB HDD
- 1GB 800mhz DDR2 RAM

Install the xorg openchrome driver

Also consider lubuntu or xubuntu instead. They run better on old hardware.

When i try to do what your link says:

E: Unable to locate package build-essential

Execute "sudo apt-get update" and "sudo apt-get upgrade" first
