Greetings, firstly, please excuse with my english and grammar...i have a problem with my computer. let me start from beginner.
My father have pass me his laptop which is Macbook Pro mid 2009.
After few year, i don't like OSX so i thought why not try Linux since i don't have window Key anymore. Also It is my first time to use Linux, so i want to try and see how compare to others. So i research for many week therefore i decide to try Ubuntu. So i did, it was great, after many months, there was upgrade, so i upgrade to 14.05(not sure which version but i am sure it is latest.) it still work fine but this week, i mess up really bad. When i restart my computer i came upon this
" The system is running in low-graphics mode"
with option, "Run in low-graphic mode for one season" "reconsider configure" etc.
I have no clue what do to so i try few solution i came across.
1: Exist console login
2: Run in low graphic mode for one season
3: go to Grub, recovery mode, failgurb(Something like that
4: at Error, press FN+Control+Command+F1 to open terminal
out of all those problem, none work, when i mean none work, Error gone (like doing in number 1 and 2) it show black screen but there was blinking at top left "-" i can't even see my mouse. Speak of which mouse, when i move my mouse, i see my cursor black X instead normal pointy..not sure if that is normal for Graphic mode error
for number 4, I open terminal and try install, Sudo apt-get install Nvideo (something along with that line, i copy line from internets for installing Nvideo) nothing happen after i type that, not even ask for password..
I am able to go on OSX, which mean computer is not actually broken, files may be broke in Ubuntu.
Is there any solution can you think of? I am looking forward to your word.
Please note, i am very new to Linux, command all those things, i only know Sudo which is ask for password (Permission to do stuff) Please Guide me easily to understand.
Many thanks!
