Question UDP appears blocked with wired ethernet but not wireless

Hi all. I have a relatively strange one here. A new version of a game (Run8, a railroad simulator) was recently upgraded on my Windows 11 box. This game allows for multiplay when connected to a server. If I connect via wireless, everything is normal. When connected through wired internet, all UDP traffic appears blocked after 5 to 10 seconds. This appears to occur with various Intell NIC's as well as Realtek. My access point goes through the same switches and router as my wired ethernet. I don't believe Windows Defender or firewall has anything to do with the issue, as it persists regardless if I have them enabled or disabled. Besides, I would think the wireless would be subject to the same firewall settings as wired (and yes, I did verify that windows shows both connections as my "domain network". I have checked for the latest driver updates and the wired NIC's are on them.

Any ideas/suggestions would be gratefully welcome.

What network hardware models do you have? Some managed network hardware (UniFI) has the option to limit/block multicast. Your UDP traffic could be multicast rather than unicast.
 
I've tested with an Intel I2219-V and I211 wired ethernet, and an Intel Wireless-AC 9560. The WAP is a Unifi WAP-AC-Pro, being managed from my server using Unifi software. Both the WAP and connections from the PC flow through the same switches and router (which is a Sonicwall TZ300). The WAP is the only component that is being "managed".

In the new user interface, search for multicast. There are several settings related to it including "Multicast Enhancement" and "Multicast broadcast control". I bet one of them is your problem, since you do have UniFI hardware.

I will do so, but, how come the wireless works, when it's the only device flowing through Unifi hardware?
