UEFI BIOS pc won't start

When I turn on my pc, it just goes to an ASUS screen saying 'press del or f2 to enter uefi bios setting' but the keys don't do anything. Any ideas what the problem is?

Can you borrow a keyboard for testing?
Try also clearing the CMOS (unplug the power cord and remove the CMOS battery for few minutes). or use the Clear CMOS jumper (if available).

A wired keyboard I'm guessing? And is it necessary to remove the CMOS battery or does a 'CMOS jumper' do the same thing ?

It does t6he same thing. Just make sure that the power supply is turned off (or unplugged).
And yes, try borrowing a wired keyboard just for testing.
